Whats going on? Galveston is just 30 miles south of me and it's bright and sunny where I am. I was watching the Olympic and this message flashed acrossed the screen.

Not sure if there was any damage. But I do know those sunny skies I was speaking of have been displaced by some Heavy rains and Thunder. I hope this system is moving south because I have a football game to attend today!!!! I hate weekend rain!!!!

It took me by surprise as well. I live in Northern Galveston Co. and heard the warning. The sun was out, but I could see storms to the South and West. Most of these storms seem to be moving WNW, but the energy is moving in from the NW as a Pacific front I believe. It should move through the area late tonight. I think they are forecasting it to stall for a bit, then clear the area by Tuesday. Highs wil only be 90 for a couple of days. Yipee!! Guess that is better than 97.
