We've had beautiful weather the last three to four days, and that will continue today. It looks as if today will be the warmest day of the week with projected highs in the 70's. It may be a little brisk with those strong southerly winds, though. Looking to break a record high today, as well, before cooling off tomorrow into the 50's, and the 40's and 30's for the remainder of the week. I cannot believe they're even mentioning snow for Wednesday and Thursday! We have very changable weather during spring up here! 8)

Spring may be here, but I am wondering how many more cold snaps will still arrive on the east coast. I heard that the east will continue to experience colder winters due to the salt content in the ocean. That was a topic on a Dr. Dewpoint article I read.

Now today the topic is: NORTHERN HEMISPHERE SNOWCOVER GREATEST ON RECORD(October to March Average Beats Out the Great Winters of 1976-1979). :o Check out the snowcover averages with this link:

Well, the old folks say that we have two more "cold snaps",
here, but, not as cold as the one last week - that was "Dogwood
Winter"...we still have "Locust Winter", and "Blackberry Winter"
left to go, occuring as each blooms. Each isn't usually cold enough
to frost, though.

Gorgeous again today, for the fourth day in a row! :D Today was a record high though, not sure what we actually topped out at, but the record was 81 and I know we smashed that!

Well, after a few wonderful days of spring, looks like we're headed back into a brief period of winter. We had a record high temperature of 83 yesterday, and now, it's only 37. It's cloudy, cold, and the wind is brisk; no doubt a bit of a windchill today. There's even a possibilty of picking up some accumulating sleet/snow tonight into tomorrow! There's a winter storm watch for portions of the southern areas.

Yikes, a 46 degree difference in one day in Marquette, Michigan! :o

It is so true that portions of this country can have such varied weather from one day to the next, such as in the nations midsection, north-central U.S. and the Denver, Colorado area.

With the temperature roller coaster like these, no wonder (myself included) everyone is coming down with sinus infections, flu, colds, allergies, etc...

Yep! We're really stuck in a rut now. Yesterday we hovered right around the 32 degree mark. Yesterday evening, I went for a walk, and the Northeast wind was so cold! It's no wonder I didn't see many people out and about. We have no snow on the ground, though, so that's good anyways. It's funny, during the warm stretch we had, all of the ice moved out into the lake. All you could see was water, except for a few areas of ice near the shore. But as soon as the NE wind picked up on Tuesday and Wednesday, it brought all of that ice right back into the bay and harbor. It's looking to finall warm back up into the 40's by the weekend, so I am happy for that! :)

The extreme temperatures in a 24 hour period are one thing in the month of March and April, but those 1/2 hour to hour to 2 hour temperatures drops are really something- mainly occuring in the north-central United States and sometimes the Midwest. I didn't experience many of them in the northeast, however, backdoor cold fronts; frontal systems moving NE to SW from New Hampshire in to Massachusetts can certainly change the air mass, in a half hour to hour time! Temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and they plummet into at least the upper 60s. Sometimes, with high humidity (dewpoints) thunderstorms will develop and at times become severe in these situations. :D

Hopefully I am not getting too much off topic, responding to Marquette Michigan's temperature tumble... From time to time what the topic is in a thread starts to shift abit. Thanks.
