Major rain overnight in so Cal causes huge problems

The season's first big rainfall fell overnight Saturday night and into early Sunday morning in southern California, bringing with it cleaner air, slick roads, and heavy rain; among other things.
In my area, it brought a cloudburst just as the sun began to rise. It rained so hard that my carport flooded out.
Here are a few pictures:
This is the cloud that produced the heavy rains. It may not look too ominous to you but that is because the sun was just coming up as I took these pictures.
This is a picture of a bunch of standing water at the other end of my street.
Note how much the water has ponded up on the carport on the right. This is my carport.
Note how you can see the reflection of my patio window in the empty space. This is because there is standing water there.
This is a slightly blurry picture of the (now empty but muddy) planter outside my back door.

All in all we have recorded around 2/3" of rain so far from this storm. More rain is on the way within the next few days.
