From today's hazardous weather outlook:

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN..THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST FOR LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY
NIGHT AS AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT MOVE
ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS. THERE IS A LOW THREAT OF ISOLATED SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING LARGE HAIL LATE THURSDAY NIGHT. HOWEVER...BY
FRIDAY AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE LIKELY...AND THE THREAT FOR
WIDESPREAD SEVERE STORMS IS EXPECTED DURING THE AFTERNOON AND
OVERNIGHT HOURS. SEVERE WEATHER PARAMETERS INDICATE THAT FRIDAY COULD
SEE MANY SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS...EACH CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE
HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND TORNADOES. LARGE SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAKS
ARE RARE ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR...BUT THEY DO
OCCUR.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION LIKELY WILL BE REQUIRED ACROSS THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK
AREA FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.

*groans* Great. This post works in conjuction with the current Day 3 outlook from the SPC. I don't know about you, but bring on the f'ing snow.

I love late season severe weather outbreaks.....

I'll keep saying that......maybe I'll believe it one of these days. At least I'm not like a few of my co-workers. They are supposed to fly back into KC on Friday afternoon/evening. If the forecast holds, I highly doubt they would be able to fly around what is supposed to be a "widespread" severe weather event. Oh well, we'll see.....

Make sure the batteries are good in the weather radio and the flashlights. Can't ever be too careful.
