5-3-03 Svr. Threat

Our local met. from the CBS affiliate said this evening at 5:00 that he had a "gut feeling" that tomorrow would be a big wx. day. The last he had a gut feeling about svr. wx. was on December 18th, the day the F-3 tornado came 10 miles from the house! :o WXBUFFJIM, you seeing a potential big svr. wx. day tomorrow? Doug is really accurate when it comes to this kind of stuff. Oh...and KSSTORMHUNTER... could you run a matrix on Tulsa and/or Joplin when you get time?
Anyone's input is much appreciated!

The situation will really heat up tomorrow from north central Arkansas through northern Oklahoma and east central kansas with supercells likely in the afternoon and evening hours as a warm front moves slowly northeastward throughout the day Saturday. Just north and along the warm front, southeast winds at the surface and southwst winds alot will create the shearing needed for violent supercells. Very large hail golfball size or larger and possibly some strong tornadoes are possible Saturday for the central plains. Lots of moisture too.
Sunday looks even worse with the potential for a widespread and violent tornado outbreak from Chicago and Des Moines down into St Louis and Little Rock. Also very large hail baseball size and wind gusts to 80 mph is likely with this. Widespread and a potentially deadly weekend for sure.

Talk about STRONG WIND FIELDS!
We can see a very strong LLJ transporting strong WAA causing strong dynamic lifting and that will lead to lift indices less than -4 (haven't checked data but I bet its less than -10 in some spots) we will also see strong thermodynamic instibality. Depending on you rexact location we could see nice diurnal heating even making the chances greater. Haven't been on top of the data so I onlyy know there will be strong undirectional shear and deep layer shear with a strong MLJ.
