I can't think of any word other than magnificent! That's something I'd love to see in person one day.

You and me both!!!! I was just hoping for a glimpse of some slight color or something and of course here in Houston it was nada!!
I may have some more to post this evening, if they are different than that group. Saw them come in on email this am but didn't have time to deal with it.

Awesome link, David! I looked through some of the other storm albums. The May 28 Crofton, NE shots are spectacular as are the Aug 26 pics from Coin, IA (particularly the cool B/W ones at the end -- very "Wizard of Oz-ish!"

I have a couple of Arizona Aurora shots that are being posted on my homepage right now. The one on the opening page was taken on the morning of November 10th this year while the one on the Spaceweather page was taken on October 29, 2003. I have quite a number of AZ aurbo photos in my collection ranging from the low faint glow to some rather spectacular shots for this latitude. The shots on my homepage will actually be posted in about 2 hours from now when I update the page. My homepage can be

Totally incredible!!!!
Has the sun been going through one of those CME Active Periods Lately?

Yes, region 696 which has now rotated off the visible disk produced several major flares including 2 X-class flares which resulted in a number of CMEs and 2 proton events and some extremely violent Geomagnetic activity including one storm with 9 hours of maximum possible ap/K values. Hence the spectacular auroral displays.

Those are great pics.. It is kinda eerie when you have them directly overhead like a river of taffy..It's an awesome experience seeing them outdoors when they are so vivid..
