MS, LA, W.AL and south central TN! Tornado threat! The south

Alot of these areas are under the gun for the next several hrs as most is under a tornado watch and as well there is quite a few warnings going as well for tornadoes in these areas especially in SE.LA, and MS.
This should continue eastward into the rest of AL , N.FL , S.TN and GA later on.

Thanks for posting the heads-up. I'm in the NW metro Atlanta area, and things haven't gotten started here. I just checked to the west of me, and its definitely beginning to look ominous. Although we haven't really seen the sun in days. It's been overcast and raining for three days now.
We're already saturated....flooding is already an issue...so throw in super-cells, and this ought to be an interesting day to say the least.

I don't really see Atlanta with a supercell problem. Their main concern should be the squall line over East Alabama around Anniston which is moving towards you. It seems to have weakened some over the past hour or so.
The line is about 30-45 minutes from here. I'll post if I can how bad it was.

Not bad at all here. Torrential rain, 30-35 mph winds, and a LITTLE lightning. There was a tornado warning, but the signature was about 15 miles south and there hasn't been any reports down there.

We had an unconfirmed touchdown this morning in Elmore County, AL. Scary stuff and not far from my house at all. We didn't see anything and just had a lot of wind and heavy rain. There was apparently some significant damage in the surrounding counties and also at the last word I had I-65 northbound from Montgomery to Clanton is closed due to large trees in the road.

Definitely coming through now. VERY high winds, heavy heavy rain. Sky is dark, street lights are on! Power just blinked....I may be out of here for a bit...

here, now. We really had mostly rain and wind,
during the night, with a scattered thunderstorm
here and there. The tornado watch was lifted
around 2am. With instability still in place, though,
we'll see what this afternoon has in store with
the passage of the front.

The skies just opened up here in Cobb County, GA. It's pouring with a bit of thunder in the backgroud. Luckily, nothing near as severe as what's been seen in much on the south. This is going to make my trip up to Greenville, SC fun.

We had some sort of twister/tornado here in Meraux
Tore off a church roof, turned over a "container", the kind 18 wheelers haul, bent phone poles.
I was without power for over 2 hrs.

Thanks for reporting in Bfez. Just glad to know you are ok! That line didn't lose any of its' punch as it moved East out of here for sure!!

A tornado touched down just a few miles from where I live. The system had to come right over my house in order to make it to this area. It's a very scary thought...touchdown a few minutes earlier could have damaged or destroyed my home. I don't like even thinking about what else it could have done.

Another tornado watch has been issued for us
here in southern middle-TN until 5pm. We
haven't seen the sun in a week, and, it's shining
brightly, right now. I DO wish it would've waited
until AFTER the front comes through, tho!

MS so glad to know you are ok!!! I've had the same thing happen and it indeed is frightening when you say "what if"!! In fact we had a touchdown about 2 miles North of the house the day before yesterday. I'm not really sure I like having the amount of knowledge I have since I now ususally follow tornados or probable tornados on the radar!! Not a lot of fun watching it unfold on radar heading towards your home, but at least I am able to warn people when I see it.
