I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. La Conchita slid before, and was on the verge of going again, but then we had all the drought. I hope everyone is ok.

We have satellite and get some of the east and west coast local channels for ABC, NBC and CBS so I watched the breaking news there. Scary stuff.

There's been apparently 1 confirmed dead in that ladslide and several others injured. People were about to evacuate that area when the side of that hill just collapsed. I saw amazing video of the actual slide and it's just unbelieveable.

This is a mess.
Here, cars and motorists are stranded between the two mudslides:
And this looks awful!

Not the way I like my mudslides....

OMG....its been a helluva start to 05 here in southern cali! Our rain has finally stopped for the most part, lighter showers later on, clouding up again, but we actually saw the sun today for a little while! We have escaped the devestation of these storms and are all A-OK. Unfortunatly, as you've seen alot of people didn't make out as well as us.

The news has been on constantly, and its so horrible to see the slides and losses, floods, etc...We were thinking of looking up plans to build an ark for a while there! Our immediate flooding is slowly receeding today, and hopefully by this weekend most will be back to normal here in So cali.
Anyway, I just wanted to report in that we are fine...
Has anyone heard from Josh?

I'm glad you're ok furry. I was thinking of you all there hoping you all were fine and dandy. Talk about very wild weather and then some for California.
82" of snow at Tahoe in this storm brings totals up to over 20 feet in 2 weeks
113 inches of snow fell in this storm at Kirkwood.
One of the big winners or losers depending on your point of view is Telare at 122 inches of snow. Over 10 feet of snow has fallen at Telare.
