Well, here we are 15 May '03 and according to the local mets on the news this a.m., the storm track is lifting back up into the Northwest, meaning the end of "El Nino!" (sorry Nalora, just HAD to throw that in there "LOL!") Temps are now going to SKYROCKET into the upper 80's for us, to WELL over 100° on the desert floors :o It was nice while it lasted, we needed more moisture but hey, I'll take what Ma Nature gave us......*sits patiently waiting for the Nonsoons now!*

Yep Dennis - means the same thing for us Texans too - El Nino would give us our wet season here in Texas. Been since first of April since any measureable rainfall.

What la nina will bring for Cane season - is anyone's guess?

What does the summer mean here for the Mid Atlantic to the northeastern usa? Could it mean more Bermuda Highs?

I never count it as Summer here til I see that persistant BIG H (meaning a high pressure dome) over Oklahoma and all that gulf moisture moving over Arizona instead of flowing over my head.

But that is just me.

I usually wait for the Ring of Fire to happen. Living in Wisconsin, we miss out on all the rainfall and thunderstorms because they are south and west of us. Yes the sunshine is wonderful, but when the grass turns brown and the plants start to droop...I think its time for some water.

I have a monsoon website that is in the process of being updated. A link can be found in the members websites section. ;)
