You have the rainy season confused with the water year which runs from 1 July through 30 June. The actual rainy season in CA as a general rule runs from November through April though it can begin earlier and end later or be shorter than that. In AZ (where the water year runs from 1October through 30 September) the primary rainy season (the monsoon) runs from 7 July through 7 September on average based upon average stop and end dates of the monsoon though NWS calls the period
of 15 June through 30 September the "monsoon season" (a redundant term). Our secondary winter rainy season runs from December through March. As a rule from about PHX north and west more rain occurs during the Winter than during the monsoon while in SE AZ the reverse is very much the case.

Yeah, over the last 4 or so years, our rainy season has been very minimal, consisting of only a couple weeks of actual rain...this year is amazing...I guess we brought weather with us when relocated out here! :D

Mt. Baldy ski resort got 8 FEET of snow from this latest 36 hr system...thats amazing! Thats also an extended ski season, I hope! What a base!
