I found this on another messageboard (unrelated to weather) and thought it might be of interest on one of these forums.

At 9:30 this morning we had a confirmed earthquake which to my knowledge was the first that we have had here in Maryland.
We heard an extemely loud boom and our walls rattled!!!
No reports of any damage yet..
This is a first for here.
The confirmed earthquake was ten miles north of Annapolis which is where we live.]]

Does anyone else think there should be a forum to report earthquakes
or are earthquakes even considered to be a weather event of some sort?

I've seen lots of state/regional BBS posts from people who say they felt it - but have trouble believing that if it was only a 2.0.
Here's the USGS link in the unlikely event anyone is interested:

A 2.0 centered near Pasadena. It was enough to feel a bit of a jolt here near Baltimore earlier today. The quake occurred at 9:22 am this morning.

You post information about an earthquake here or in the Off Topic forum.
Jim - MD is not only known for it's F4 tornadoes, but now earthquakes!

BTW, I saw on last night's local news that there had actually been another 2.0 earthquake, epicentered near Beltsville during the afternoon IIRC, plus one in Virginia somewhere. But I couldn't find anything on the USGS site when I looked this morning so maybe that report was incorrect.

I'd assume it would be more appropriate in the Off Topic forum.

I suppose so, but it isn't really weather related. There are posts in the off topic that could be post here then, if you think about it.
