Rain, hail rock rush hour
From Staff Reporters of WFAA ABC 8
Fast-moving storms hit parts of Dallas, Denton, Collin and Grayson counties this afternoon, dumping heavy rains and pea-sized hail along a line from Carrollton north through Frisco up to the Sherman-Denison area.
A tornado watch was issued for portions of North Texas in the arly evening, but no tornadic activity was spotted. WFAA-TV meteorologist Greg Fields said storms containing cloud-to-ground lightning could recur overnight, particularly to the north and east of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Weather Service officials said the best chances for severe storms overnight would be east of the I-35 corridor.
Cooler temperatures were forecast for Wednesday, with highs only in the 70s and another chance of storms in the afternoon.
