David, :)

What do you think of the proposal?

To me...they're too plain and generic.

I think they are going for the general public, to make them the easiest to understand.

I kind of like the ones they have right now, but the new ones aren't terrible. Hard to say... We'll just see what they do...

But it would seem obvious to the majority of peeps that a windmill field would suggest windy conditions, lightning bolts/strokes against a dark blue sky " " thunderstorms, a car's headlights in a downpour " " rainfall...BTW the " can be used also as ditto marks from which I did here. :)

A kid in Kindergarten could make one like what the NWS is now proposing in their new icon idea.

I agree Eric. I don't like the proposed ones at all and I let NOAA know about it. :) Politely, of course!

I guess I am not alone. I see nothing that is better than the old ones.

It looks like I drew the new graphics (I'll let you infer that is not a good thing!)

Although I can't vote and really can't comment directly, I can say this... I would never vote for something that I drew

Wow, I can't believe they're actually considering those! I let them know what I think! They remind me of the graphics we used on my college TV weather forecasts! They look cheap, generic, and cartoon-y.
