an f4 anti-cyclonic tornado was reported in kansas i think.

LC (Larry Cosgrove) always refers to high pressure systems as anti-cyclones. So would an anti-cyclonic tornado be one that occurs on a bright sunny day? :wink: :cheesy:

I would be surprised if it was 10% or more, unless they're counting the So. Hemisphere.

quite a few anti-cyclonic tornados occur every year in the united states. refer to the latest edition of weatherwise

Actually on average, odds are 1,000 to 1 that a tornado will spin anti-cyclonically. Most tornadoes that spin anti-cyclonically are satellite vortices around a larger tornado. However, some video taken by storm chasers on several occasions have captured these rare tornadoes.

yes, they do occur. weatherwise has a very interesting article about them in its may/june edition.
