I just looked at the 7 day and its HOT and NO RAIN! When are we going to get some kind of relief!!

It's been dry in North Texas too. Not abnormally hot, but definitely dry. Gives me a bad feeling for the summer. I wonder why it's been so dry? We haven't even had many severe weather episodes this Spring either.

we havne't either. What happened to rain showers with lightening and thunder every afternoon? That's usually what spring is like!

.DISCUSSION...
TEMPERATURES LOOK TO BE THE MAIN ITEM OF CONCERN OVER THE NEXT FEW
DAYS. THE MID AND UPPER LEVEL HIGH WILL BUILD OVER THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS AND TEXAS FROM THE SOUTHWEST. THERE IS A BIT OF A MODEL
DIFFERENCE ON THE STRENGTH OF THE RIDGE BY SUNDAY AND MONDAY. THE
GFS WAS INDICATING THAT AN MCS WILL FORM OVER THE PLAINS AND PUSH
SOUTHWARD. HOWEVER...THIS MAY BE MODEL CONVECTIVE FEEDBACK. FOR
NOW WILL KEEP THE 10 PERCENT POPS IN PLACE.

A WEAK FRONT WILL HELP OFFSHORE WINDS TO DEVELOP SATURDAY. THIS
BEING THE CASE...EXPECT TEMPERATURES AT GALVESTON TO REACH INTO
THE UPPER 80S AND THE 90 DEGREE MARK IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION IF
THE WIND DIRECTION GETS RIGHT. OVERALL TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE A
FEW DEGREES HIGHER BY SATURDAY THAN WILL OCCUR TODAY. OVER THE
WEEKEND THE MID 90S SHOULD BE THE NORM OVER THE INLAND AREAS AND
SOME RECORDS MAY BE REACHED.


This is the same forecast for NTX as well.

Once again what looked to be a decent rain episode this weekend has COMPLETELY fizzled. Slight chance of rain tomorrow afternoon but then it's hot and dry with no end in sight. We might be in the mid 90's by Saturday. Only 3.11" here since March 1 .

HIGH PRESSURE SETTING UP OVER THE REGION IS AN EVEN MORE GRAPHIC
DISPLAY OF WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS FOR NORTH TEXAS. LAST FEW
MONTHS HAVE SEEN DRIER THAN NORMAL CONDITIONS...WHICH IS CRITICAL
THIS TIME OF YEAR TO ABATE THE ONSET OF WARM TEMPERATURES DURING
THE SUMMER. IN FACT SINCE MARCH FIRST...A VERY WET TIME OF YEAR
FOR US...WE ARE OVER 5 INCHES BELOW NORMAL FOR RAINFALL. WITH THE
GROUND BECOMING DRIER...IT WILL BE EASIER TO WARM THE ATMOSPHERE
WITH EACH PASSING DAY.

A WEAK WIND SHIFT TONIGHT WILL DO LITTLE TO CHANGE NORTH TEXAS
WEATHER...WITH SATURDAY MUCH LIKE TODAY. IN FACT...SUNDAY WILL BE
EVEN WARMER AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES THE REGION LATE IN THE DAY.
ANOTHER FRONT APPROACHES THE AREA MID WEEK...WITH STILL ANOTHER NEXT
WEEKEND. THE MODELS BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN TO THE AREA WITH
EACH FRONT BUT THE INGREDIENTS APPEAR MARGINAL AT THIS TIME.
AND...THERE HAS BEEN A TENDENCY TO BE WET BIASED RECENTLY SO WE
SEE NO REASON TO STRAY FROM PERSISTENCE AND HAVE KEPT RAIN OUT OF
THE ENTIRE 7 DAY FORECAST.
