Awesome video, and I remember that tornado outbreak very well, we had continuing coverage of the system all night here in NTX.

Thanks for sharing the link. I love Jim Spencer (the met who narrates) and I remember that tornado outbreak. I was in Austin, very far away, and a friend from Connecticut swore the skies looked weird in Austin & was scared. I told her she was paranoid... then I got home & saw the news. How could I not see the strange coloration she must've noticed? I guess we were so far away, only someone from another region could notice?
Great footage. Glad they found it. Shows you how scary it is to chase!

Wow!
My brother was a doctoral student at OU at that time. He usually was on the interstate at that time of day, heading home to OK City. But, that day, his afternoon class was canceled and he decided to head home instead of staying to do research. If he'd stayed, he would've been in the middle of that monster on I-35. I am so glad he and his family are back home in Alabama now-- we can handle hurricanes, but not tornadoes!!

Unbelievable video....this shows how you must fear the elements of nature, how precious life is and how the unexpected can happen.

Unbelieveable indeed. Also on this date 20 years ago, the deadliest tornado day in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York State, and parts of southeast Canada with 41 tornadoes, 90 deaths, and over a half billion dollars of damage.
The first F5 tornado ever to occur in Pennsylvania on this date 20 years ago nearly wiped out Wheatland, PA in the western part of the state. This is the only F5 tornado on record to strike the state of Pennsylvania since records started.
A much different day today 20 years later with sunshine and no severe expected.
