Things are heating up and what little precip we received in the past week is just a memory. Still have only had 4.5" of rain since March 1 making this one of the top 3 driest spring seasons. I see nothing in our forecast that suggests higher rain chances either. Sprinklers are in full effect once again . This is going to be a long summer...

and I thought I had it bad, temperatures today will be 88 degrees. 85 on monday, isolated thunderstorms, 81 on Tuesday, few showers.

The only thing we can hope for are pop-up afternoon thunderstorms here. Our chances have been 40-50% each day, but we had nothing yesterday and a little sprinkle today. Our high on Friday was 96 degrees
The NWS is predicting an above-average temperature summer for our area with below-average precipitation

It's been thundering a good bit today...i haven't seen any rain but i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Along with my legs, toes, eyes...

Feast or famine day for sure...some areas picked up 3"-5" of rain with thunderstorms that stalled over the same areas. The coverage was quite widespread and there are still some storms south of here but only .10" was received early this morning at my house. Could hear thunder almost all day but it was all just a tease. I swear there's a rain buffer right over my house as I've seen for the past 2 weeks surrounding locations receive more rain than we've had all spring in one day. 40% chance tomorrow so we'll see what happens. Just give me one fricken storm to drop 2" is that too much to ask for in south Louisiana?!! Until then the 12" rainfall deficit lives on... .

Will we finally see some heavy rains in my area today? This sure sounds promising:

We've gotten some big boomers in my area, but the bulk of the nasty stuff is to my east around New Orleans. We had a decent shower yesterday evening too.

Once again the showers parted before moving through the southern part of town (where we live CM ). There must be some sort of rain buffer over our heads because EVERYTHING passes around us just giving us a light shower each time. Here's hoping for round two this afternoon but I'm not expecting anything.

Well CM guess it's just us that still want the rain since we haven't gotten hardly any in the past 2 weeks . It's almost becoming comical just watching the radars during the day I can predict right when the storms will fall apart because they have avoided the same spot every day.

Check it out right here, the light blue right over central and south Lafayette Parish. I posted about this last week and the storm total looked eerily similar, wish I had saved it.

It rained a lot here this morning. Nothing particularly heavy but enjoyed the numerous thunder booms and my yard is nice and wet. When I checked radar, the storms weren't that big but seemed to be hanging around my house.. I was less than 10 miles away this afternoon, and they didn't seem to get anything.

PT and Frick...I hope ya'll get some rain soon!

Spoke too soon! It's absolutely storming at home right now, definately going over 1" with this cell. Somebody was listening!

Very bad lightning with this storm this evening but no complaints here! I estimate around 1.5"-2" of rain has fallen based on the pool and it's still coming down. Definately the biggest storm around here in long time and my yard is loving every drop.

BTW talked to a friend over in New Orleans earlier, some areas got 5" within an hour or so and he said many streets were impassable. Seems like mother nature is starting to play catch up.

WOWZERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lightning every 10 seconds...when I started timing the strikes! I ended up turning the computer and a/c off....strikes all around! Plus there's a tower right close to me....i was outside in the garage saw the strike and could hear the tower crackle. Hauled my rearend back inside real quick!

Glad to hear y'all over in Acadiana are finally getting in on the much-needed afternoon sea breeze deluges we've been experiencing. Nothing but light scattereds around my immediate vicinity today, but around sunset yesterday we picked up about 2.5 inches in the span of 1-1 1/2 hours along with a big time lightning show.

Ya'll need me to drive down there for vacation so that it
will RAIN the whole time! LOL! Kathy, you'd better keep
your backside inside, gal! I do hope that ya'll get
the rain that you need.
