Residents Are Encouraged To Report All Flooding
Published: Jul 2, 2005
BARTOW - Polk County Emergency Management Division officials are urging anyone experiencing flooding from the recent heavy rainfall to notify them immediately.
Even during the Fourth of July holiday, the county wants to hear what is going on in flood-prone areas, a spokeswoman said Friday. Residents are being asked to call the Citizens Information Line at (863) 534-0321 or a toll-free number, 1-866-661-0228, said Katy Hitchcock, communications specialist for emergency management.
County damage assessment teams will be surveying areas, as they did Friday near Saddlebag Lake, Crooked Lake and Lake Clinch, Hitchcock said.
