RAIN AND STORMS

Well I asked for it and I got it. Over 2 inches of rain - severe storms with thunder and lightning. Lost electricity for over an hour. The storm is just sitting to the north of us - looks like we might get another round.

I think I got my 20% chance today.

20% chance left you 100% wet today, Ticka.

And me 100% dry, but much much cooler thanks to the outflow from this large rotating MCC(?). Very strange to be sitting just under the western edge of this system that spans at least 50 miles and watching the clouds moving N when you know the whole system is slowly sinking south. Where's my rain? :?: :x

Congratulations ticka...you lucky lucky girl.

Let's see...you're to my west and you got over 2 inches of rain, all of our Louisiana friends to my east got soaked as well...and I got sprinkles for a little while then brief light rain...for a grand total of .10 in my rain gauge.

I guess I should be grateful for that little bit though...poor David didn't get anything!

It was soooo close too...it thundered like crazy but the storms just barely missed us.

Congrats on the rain Ticka, just over 1.5" at my house with some areas picking up 3-5". Still rain developing to our west, looks like we really have been lucky today.

It's 10:43 pm here and it's just about to hit me. Beautiful lightning show...but I hate storms hitting me at night. Hope I don't lose power

Well today is the west side's turn and I AM MISSING OUT AGAIN!!!! :x :x   DARNED DOME!!! I TOLD THEM TO LEAVE A WAY TO OPEN IT SO THE RAIN COULD GET IN!!!!

Actually it is a serious situation to my SW and W with numerous funnel clouds reported and caught on film. No touchdowns confirmed by visible damage, but at least 2 reported touchdowns by law enforcement. I presume further investigation will either confirm or debunk the touchdowns.

The storm continues slowly moving NNW AND NW with another radar indicated tornado about 10 miles WSW of me. I am hearing thunder and the clouds are thickening, so I might get lucky yet!!(JUST RAIN PLEASE!!! :o ) I'll update as necessary.

All is well. The storm has dissapated in the last 10 minutes and is no longer a threat to anyone and now I go back to rain dancing and trying to hone in my aim I guess!!

Well not quite. At least one touchdown has been confirmed due to damage to homes in the Sugar Land area. Initial from what I saw damage wise on the TV is an F0 tornado. It was apparently a very brief touchdown. No injuries reported.

WOOHOO!!!! RAIN!!! :multi: :multi: Or someone has a bucket on my roof and a rumble machine.
Yes, I said rain, but they heard me because it just stopped. Areas to my E are once again receiving substantially more than we have at the house, but some is better than none!! RAdar shows the possibility of more moving in from the W and NW but that appears to be waning now so I won't count on it. Haven't checked the gauge yet(don't want to melt you know!!)but my guess is less than .10" here at the house. However the NWS has issued an Urban and small stream flood advisory for us as up to 2" of rain has fallen just to my E and SE with up to 2" more expected in those areas to my E.

If only I could send you some rain, David. It was already too wet here and we have received another 2" since yesterday evening. I believe my entire county is now swampland.
