What a great sight this morning in the SE Houston Metro area. At least 1.5" and still pouring. Deep tropical moisture over the BOC will likely bring potentially heavy rains Friday. Combined with more heavy rain from tonights MCS we could actually be talking a possible flood threat?!
Us Houstonions have seen the weather go from drought to flood in one day. In fact folks in Liberty County E of Houston experienced that 2 days ago when 8-9" of rain fell 3 hours. Thats the kind of rain we saw in League City when Allison first moved ashore.
Weather is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its now in Baytown Katdaddy. Power has gone out twice already here at work. This is a slow moving system.
Heard this could go on all day. Beaumont - look out SG - its headed towards you next.

It left Spring Branch long ago. We had 0.40" here at the house, which is more than we had all last month. I guess that is a start. Meantime it looks to be over in Houston Metro for the day from what I see.
Our area getting any heavy tropical rains out of the BOC or GOM ATT depends on whether the moisture is still available when and if the trough coming in from the W on Thurs/Fri moves through our area and the GOM. Current conditions don't favor any of the BOC moisture heading our way yet. Hopefully that will change. In fact NWS has posted a 60% chance of rain for this afternoon due to the somewhat unstable atmosphere we are experiencing in SE TX.
Yay For Rain!!

I woke up this morning to the wonderful sound of thunder and pouring rain. It had lightened up considerably by the time I left for work at 8:30, but I ran into it again once I reached north of Houston.
I don't know about the rest of the Gulf Coast, but in Houston, we go for days with suffocating humidity. The only release we get is during storms like these that clear the air and make it easy to breathe again.
I actually had to close my car windows this morning--the breeze was a bit too COOL!!
:-D :-D :-D
