Well folks, the Monsoon season is here (for some of the state anyway) and I've yet to receive a DROP of rain, "IF" it doesn't rain today (it doesn't appear it will either)......this will be an ALL time RECORD, the latest day for monsoon activity

It's so DRY again, an example.....I was out in the backyard yesterday checking out the cracks in the yard (I don't water the back, I've got a full acre of land and to water the WHOLE yard, well, let's just say  ANYWAY, I dropped a cigarette butt and in LESS than 2 seconds, the immediate area surrounding the butt CAUGHT ON FIRE   I had the water on in the vegtable garden, I ran and grabbed it and put the grass out!!

It's AMAZING, we had a record WET winter and now, RECORD dry  The reason for the record dry is the WIND!!! Only 15 DAYS, YES....15 DAYS without WIND.......now tell ME that the weather pattern hasn't changed!! "Global Warming?" :?:

Well Dennis...the soup is mixed up down here in the Valley. We had some cells develop just along 4 Peaks last evening and move through our area leaving .36" of rain in about 30 minutes and some wind damage.

And now, this morning, dew point is WAY up there...so we do believe we will see more over the weekend. Hope you do too!

My hopes for ANY moisture for today are QUICKLY fading and going down the tubes .......only 9 hours and 20 minutes to go and there's NOTHING heading my way! Good Luck Steve, y'all need the rain more than we do up here!

WELL......it goes without saying, we DIDN'T get a DROP of rain yesterday, just virga! The ONLY saving grace, it was cooler.

Now....my stats only go back 20 years and this is the longest dry spell for the so called Monsoon season

The news gets even BETTER......it's supposed to DRY OUT, now how in the HADES does it get DRIER when it hasn't even STARTED to rain :larrow: :?:

ANOTHER INVERTED TROUGH/UPPER CIRCULATION WAS NOTED ON WV IMAGERY AND WAS LOCATED JUST SOUTH OF TX THIS MORNING. THIS FEATURE WAS TRACKING TO THE WEST AND SHOULD RESULT IN SOME INCREASE IN CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY WHEN IT APPROACHES THE AREA ON MONDAY.

:rarrow: MODELS SUGGEST A STRENGTHENING WESTERLY FLOW BY MIDWEEK AND THIS WOULD RESULT IN A DRYING TREND ACROSS THE REGION FROM MIDWEEK INTO THE WEEKEND. DB :larrow: :?:

Awwwwww, please don't cry. Utilize those tears that are flowing by standing over a rain bucket then use it to water your vegetation with them.

Dennis I am so happy for you! Did you get that urge, even if only for a moment, to just go out there and stand in it or anything like that? Why is it we appriciate rain so much more when we have gone without!
