It's so hot we are seeing if an egg will cook outside! I've never seen kids book out of the house into the heat so fast. My 12 and 5 year old daughters and 13 and 12 year old niece/nephew all booked out to watch the egg cook! We put it in a black wok and set outside on the sidewalk.
If you can't make em feel better in this icky hot stuff at least you can make em curious and entertained! Will update the progress!

Sorry it's so HOT there, we had our share the last 3 weeks. NOW....to the eggs, temps have to be OVER 155° in order to cook 'em, they've tried it in Phoenix.

Really? Well that's a bummer. My kids broke the yoke *rolls eyes* LOL but gonna take pics if I can get my camera working.. the edges are a little white so far.

Did they put an egg in a pan or leave the egg in it's shell in phoenix?

Here's another one.. the kids were having fun taking turns with the camera so it's a little crooked LOL The egg is starting to look kinda gross LOL think it's evaporating more then cooking.

Actually, since the pavement temperatures in PHX can exceed 200F, you CAN fry an egg on the asphalt there. BTW in AZ you learn that asphalt has a liquid state.

Pebbles, that picture is so adorable. You're blessed to have a family that has enough time to sit around and watch an egg fry. Wish I could relax that easily... 8-)

At least we're not the only folks baking in the sun. Yesterday in Omaha, we officially reached 106F. Thankfully the dewpoint was only (yes, only) in the mid-60s. The day prior we were in the upper 90s with a dewpoint of 75-79F. That ain't right.

Hey Pebbles...originally living just about an hour west of you for 50 years, I remember those hot July days....

But in truth, the photos are cute but the kids look more fried than the egg!!

they were in the sprinkler so are dripping wet in those LOL

Ahhh..the sprinkler. What did we ever do without them! Didn't help the grass much, but did wonders for the kids.

Use of sprinklers are forbidden during the day in the place where I live as there's no yard watering allowed between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Its hot all over the country. While in Rapid City on July 16, I had the pleasure of experiencing 110F degree weather and I hope I never have to go through such heat again.

Lawrence is currently 99 with a dew point of 70-the great thing: we have a nice refreshing south/southwest wind of 25 gusting to 35!!!LOL!!! I was outside doing some work today and it is def hot-oh well, as our NWS said: Summer in Kansas-what are you going to do?? Relief will come tonight and while it will only last a couple of days (the 0z EURO today showed another ridge really pounding us by the end of next week) it is still relief-again: Kansas weather: blistering in summer and sub zero in winter!!!

Amen to that one! I remember those days of running around my backyard through the sprinkler. We have some old and quite amusing video footage of that. Wouldn't show it to anyone though. I wasn't wearing... All that much. :lol:

HEHE! We uses to have one of those plastic little tyke slides and we put the end of it into a baby pool. My 5 year old when she was 18 months old would book out the door... rip off her diaper before we could stop her and go bare bottom down the slide! We made sure we kept the slide in the shade of a big tree we have so she wouldn't burn her bum! Wish now I had pics of it as it was too cute!

LOL, Pebbles, one of our patients came in today and announced
that they have repented. After enduring heat index of 110°F,
they'd decided that Hades was going to be WAY too hot... :lol:
