Batten down the hatches...

Well...after a nice quiet day, monsterous storms are starting to move into my location. A huge line of strong to severe storms is moving eastward to my location. These storms have had the ability to drop some hail and winds over 60 mph. I am starting to hear the thunder now. The sky is rapidly becoming dark. I will post an update when things have cleared by to my east. The counties to my west and to my south are all under severe thunderstorm warnings. This is the latest radar image from the State College office...

Thanks King of Weather. I'm now logging off. I am waiting for them to hit. Looks like a little bow might be trying to develop that will come directly overhead. Got the flashlight ready :) See you when this is over with.

All clear! Had about 20 minutes of solid rain. Not a lot of thunder nor lightning with the rain...though the power did manage to go out for about 3 minutes. We didnt even have any wind with the storm. We got .6" of rain in just about 35 to 40 minutes. The road looked like a river from the heavy rain. I watched the rain slowly move over the hill just to our south and west to the house. It took its sweet time to get the 2 football fields to where I am located.

Those storms were very nasty. We have downed trees all over the area right now. Some power outages as well. Winds with the storms are very dangerous. I could hear trees snapping when I was outside before it hit. Alot of rain with them as well. Take care!

I am looking forward to monitor the radars when I return home Tuesday afternoon. My much quicker and more frequent access is coming the day after tomorrow. :)
