I was up all night on the 15th. At 8am winds where around 30mph. By noon tropical storm force was constant. The worst came around 4-5:50pm when I picked up a 66mph gust. The Rancocas Creek looked like a ocean with 5-8 foot swells.

Hurricane Floyd Damage report Written originally on September 19th 1999

Down trees where common in the area. Power lines where downed in nearby towns and the Delaware River and its tributaries rose to near or even over flood stage in areas. Lakes flooded and a few dams broke. Though my area kept power the whole time some areas near by didn’t. Several drainage ditches overflowed and one near my house nearly poured onto the road. As it is mostly when it rains for over 39 hours straight Street flooding was widespread and some busy roads were shut down. Route 130 northbound was shutdown about 5 miles from me due to standing water. As far as I know 3 people died in New Jersey all flood related. Hurricane Floyd also ended a severe drought which plagued the area during the summer of 1999. A 66mph gust was recorded by my weather station at 4:59pm on Thursday September 16th before the wind gauge busted but there is a margin of error of 5-8mph.

Hurricane Isabel Damage report Originally written September 22nd 2003

Trees where a common sight. The biggest effect was the beach erosion. The 15-20 waves crashing in along with a 2-4 foot storm surge poured into the dunes in spots. Dune Drive was flooded in sections. The Back Bay rose about 6 feet. During the day on Thursday the 18th not a drop of rain was spilled just a lot of wind. At nightfall though I’d never seen it rain harder as 2 outer bands off of a weakening Isabel came ashore. It was like rocks hitting the house. Needless to say there was a gold mine of good shells on the beach by Friday morning. Tidal flooding was another effect from Isabel. Tropical Storm force winds blew almost constantly from 6:30pm to about 2:25am Friday. (I was up all night) A 57 MPH gust was recorded by a nearby anemometer at about 9:02pm on Thursday September 18th. As far as I know 2 deaths were recorded in New Jersey one of them a man who drowned when his boat sank in Barnegat bay. Surprisingly during this storm people were fishing in Townsends inlet for little Bluefish.

July 1st 2005 thunderstorm summary written July 1st 2005

It was a humid day. 2 passing showers moved through. At 5:30 the sky turned black the darkest I'd ever seen it at 5:30 on a July evening. a tornado warning was issued. At 5:45 I spotted a wall cloud. I'll let this speak for it

It never touched ground but it rotated. It was trying but failed. a 39mph gust was recorded.

July 27th 2005 thunderstorm written August 1st 2005

July 26th was 97 degrees. The 27th was 100 for the first time since August of 2001. That august day was a Friday (I forget the date) And It ended the same way as this one. At 6:30 a line of storms blasted into Philadelphia where a trained storm spotter recorded a gust to 65mph. I grabbed by wind meter and ran out to intercept. Winds were about 10mph when I reached my location. Then they exploded over 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, 56.2. Trees came down branches were everywhere. 56.2 was the highest of the gusts. Damage in the form of branches and down trees is still lying around.
