Finally, Rain in Lawrence, Kansas

Finally: after 33 days, we are getting some much needed rain-most of the heavier rain is North of us along the meandering front, but we are getting a small line of showers popping up south of here and moving North East. Latest surface obs. show the front is beginning to sag slowly south so we could possibly see some benficial rains from this over the next 12-14 hours and then more tomorrow. The GFS is over done as it creates two short waves developing along the front, but there is a weak one currenly in central Kansas. I hope folks to my North and East i.e Illinois can get some of this over the next few days!!! I'll take what ever I can get. NWS is talking about training and that appears to be what is beginning to happen-the front may get hung up in this area for about 48 hours untill a stronger sw comes out over the plains and pushes it out. Cooler weather for at least the next 4-5 days then by Wed. we are back to normal temps.-91 degrees. Any break is good!!!
