Around 8:20PM, showers popped up over SW Topeka, giving us a 20-minute shower. Trace of rain, but it'll give the grass a drink.

Kansas City, on the other hand, had a line of heavy rain move through, and alot of counties in Missouri are under Flash Flood Warnings.

Score .5 for David. Score .5 for the bubble.

Have a good night. :)

Topeka isn't really in a drought, but the northern counties(Republic, Washington, Marshall, Nemaha, Brown) are some of the driest places in KS.

How far is the Topeka NWS from your home?

Oh wow, i'm not sure. North and South Topeka are divided by the Kansas river. I'm right by Burnett's mound on the SW side, Topeka NWS is on the NW side. I prefer to use the site FOE(KFOE for METAR's) which is Forbes Field/Topeka, Kansas. It's WAY closer.

Take for instance this year, I measured 8.55 inches of snow at my house. Topeka NWS got 12.6 or something around there. BIG difference. ;)

I see when I click the Topeka link, it pulls up some Philip Billard airport. How far is that from you?

That's where the NWS is. That's north Topeka, like I stated earlier. I'll get a map, and show you.

Alright... hope you can see...

See where Burnett's Mound is? See there 29th St. is? See where the damage path, Gage Blvd(N-S rd.) and 29th Street intersect? That's real close to my location. See where it says Wx Bureau to the NE? That's where the NWS TOP is. ;)
