Freeze alert as temperatures drop

North Texas is bracing for the first freeze of the season—right on schedule.
In spite of the unseasonably warm fall we've had through now, brisk northwest winds are bringing a reminder of November weather.
"D/FW has dropped at least 10 degrees," said WFAA-TV (Channel 8) meteorologist Pete Delkus.
"Temperatures are continuing to drop off. There is a freeze warning for almost everyone tonight especialy from Paris to Greenville and points in the southwest, including Fort Worth... Additionally, we have a wind advisory. Winds of 20 or 30 mph gusting up to 35 maybe even 40 mph," he added.
We'll wake up Wednesday to temperatures in the low 30s, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a freeze warning for an area north and west of Dallas County Dallas is not included in the warning area.
It will be the season's first widespread freeze. The average date of the first D/FW freeze is Nov. 17, with an average of two freezes in the month of November.
Wednesday night will also bring temperatres in the 30s, but the mercury will moderate as we approach the weekend, with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s.
