Had to pick myself up off the floor when I read this!!!  As I posted in the Winter Weather forum, this is about a month early for the Houston area. We usually on average do not see a freeze before December 12th or thereabouts. I'm shivering just thinking about it. :froze: :jacket:

Congrats up in the Houston area. We're going to be close this time around. Maybe some frost, but not a freeze. I think by Christmas we'll have more than one.

Bring it on! :froze:

Supposed to get down to 33 here in Lafayette. Wouldn't be surprised if it hit 32 here at my house. The freeze does seem early considering it's been coming so late every year. It's especially interesting because we transitioned between near record highs to much below normal in one day. The low temperature is forecasted to be 40 or below for the next 8 days. In January, the coldest time of the year, our average low is only 42. From summer to winter folks, ah Louisiana!

Definately. I wonder if this is just a precursor to what's heading our way the rest of the winter season. Last year we had snow on Christmas Day in south Louisiana. I really don't think this year could beat that, but I sure hope to see the white stuff again!

Yep... same deal here(although this is about normal for us). We're barely going to top 50 today!!! Probably will be even colder tonight and it looks like it'll be cold through at least the end of the month.

It's 37.9 at almost 3am with still occasionally howling winds... don't think we're going to make it tonight, but the wind chills are TERRIBLE.

A gradual chill woulda been nice. Brrrrrr.....

Whose idea was it to built these Galveston homes up on stilts and then not put anything underneath our feet but wood floors??? I mean, nothing but wood, then cold air blowing underneath. It's kinda like how a bridge freezes before a road does because of the cold air circulating all around.

I'm gonna get carpet.

Brrrrrfreakingrrrrrrrrr!
