I was working maintenance at a Sleep Inn in Roanoke Rapids, NC and what an adventure this storm system proved to be for a hotel GM and employees along with stranded guests from off I-95!!

I was 33 and the SAHM of 11 month old twins. This was their first snow.
In two weeks, my twins will be 11 years old. Hard to believe how time has flown.

I remember it, was 14---we expected 6" and got 32" lol.
Funny thing was the week prior wasn't all that cold. It was fairly warm (low 40s)
learned a lesson though---always buy food....even if you have lots of leftovers from Christmas/New Years. I now know why Pennsylvanians go nuts when snow is forecast and mob the stores.

On topic, I dont remember it at all. I live in Minnesota so obviously I probably shouldnt remember something that happened on the east coast. To be honest, I think nor'easters are the most overhyped thing in meteorology. They happen every year, and the people are completely used to all that snow, so who cares?

Weeeell, it sure was a memorable storm to me having worked at a hotel and making that a 'second home' for a while!

I suppose so then, its just that to me the dynamics of a nor'easter arent as impressive as a storm in the plains states. Nor'easters are a dime a dozen and apparently they get more media attention than most severe weather outbreaks.

I suppose then...it just depends where one lives.

well, I used to watch the weather videos from Accuweather.com and it seems as though all they talk about are nor'easters. Every time theres a possible "nor'easter", even if its in the middle of spring and wont produce any snow, thats all they talk about. It gets old really, especially when there were bigger storms entering the Plains having a more serious effect than a little rain and wind.
I dunno to me people who talk about nor'easters all the time are like those people who complain because its too cloudy or too wet, ya know? Its just a part of the weather that one should get used to.

I lived in Philadelphia at the time and got 30.7 inches the biggest snow I'd ever seen. The second biggest I saw was 22 inches from Presidents day 2003.
