Hey guys...didn't y'all get some rain yesterday? Geesh...I just saw fires burning in Fort Worth on Fox News. I got a lot of rain yesterday and overnight.
Very windy today though (and chilly) - gusts to 40mph!

There is even a fire risk here in SE Texas with all the rain we had. The strong, arid NW winds today almost instantly dried out the dead vegetation and yesterday's rain did little, if anything to squelch the fire danger. That's why there are still red flag warnings/burn bans up.

Dang. I was hoping it was enough to ease the threat, at least for a little while. I got about 2 inches here. I know that the stronger stuff developed as it approached Southeast Texas so I didn't know how much the Dallas/Fort Worth area received.
Yeah, we're under a wind advisory today - it's very windy.

Yeah, I think today is the windiest day (other than Rita) we have had since I moved to Houston last summer. There are even whitecaps in the little fountain pond outside my office building - never seen than before. It's a bit too windy IMO, not very pleasant to be outside.

We got a trace on the east side of the Metroplex. I think it got more sparce as you went westward. Maybe FTW got a few drops. CaptinCrunch lives out there, maybe he can chime in.

wow. I think I just got my strongest gust all day! I would predict 45-50mph. It was strong enough to put many trees into a full bend and set off dozens of car alarms. This is pretty strong wind considering we are not anywhere near a T-storm or a tropical cyclone!

The pressure gradient is pretty tight right now.

Despite all the rain, we're still in danger for some wildfires.
Whatever rain fell in North Texas got sucked up in the grounds like a sponge.

Many of the Weatherbug stations are still out since Rita, but there are a few reports of 42 and 44mph. Breezy indeed!
