Problem with it today. I ordered some radar data a few hours ago and it still says "0% complete" and the email hasn't arrived yet. Usually it only takes a few minutes to complete. I have ordered six sets of the same data on two email addresses just to make sure, but none of them have arrived. Finally, to make sure that it wasn't just because you can't order data from 5/8/03, I ordered data from 5/9/03, but that hasn't arrived either.

I'm betting a million dollars that even a year later there will be no replies (since those of you who haven't ever used HAS have no idea what I'm talking about), but then again if anybody also has this problem with HAS then please reply to this thread.

I use HAS frequently, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I haven't used it Today, but in the last several weeks it has been VERY slow and very delayed in getting data to me, unlike the norm, which as you said, is just a few minutes. Its taken me upwards of 2 to 3 days before I got the data in my e-mail box. So I guess you'll just have to be patient, lol. I know its no fun, especially when you need the data at that time!

Hmmm... that's weird. I have been using HAS frequently for the last few weeks and I've had no problems just until today. Although I've noticed that at around 9:00 PM the site is always down for some reason.

Most Level II archived data are there until you get to around 1996 or so where some of the data is missing. There are also a few stations and dates where data is missing so beware. But otherwise it's the greatest thing out there. All the archived data you could ever want and it's free. Problem is you need a radar viewer such as GRLevel2.

GRLevel3 won't work. You can download GRLevel2, it has a trial version as well.

This probably wont help much, but if you really want to review radar you could go to the severe weather events page on SPC and watch radar loops for 5/8/03

Yes but you can zoom in really close to the supercells with GRLevel2. Anyway I got the data already but the supercells weren't really as "classic" as I thought they'd be.

Where can i find those radar data youre talking about?? And yeah, I noticed that when I looked at it through Severe Events. The supercells on May 4th were impressive, though, and on the may 10th day I was surprised there werent even more tornadoes reported since the supercells blew up over western Missouri, but apparently were in weak instability and didnt become tornadic till about eastern missouri. Weird how sometimes tornado outbreaks occur in weak instability, and other times a otherwise prime set-up results in just about nothing.

I have much of the May 4th data saved into my computer. Problem with May 10 is a) much of the tornadoes occurred in the radar hole just east of Kirksville and b) that a big chunk of data from the surrounding radar stations from 0Z May 11 to 8Z is missing. Also, much of the Kansas City/Pleasant Hill radar data is also missing from May 4. So, as I said, there are many holes in the data, but overall it's very good.

Did you untar the files before you clicked on "Retrieve Selected Files"?

Remember that after you open the email they send you you have to save the files onto your computer. The files then can be opened with GRLevel2.

I ordered a set of data yesterday evening and it's almost been 24 hours - no data has arrived.

Over 36 hours now, well I really can't wait anymore since school's starting tomorrow, I'm pretty busy today, and I've only got a week to save the data.

It was working fine for me about two weeks ago, but I just ordered another set to check it - some of the Ivan stuff when it was moving through here - produced an F3 just about a mile to my west, and I've been wanting to look at that . . . anyway, I'll let you know how it goes for me.

Thanks. Good luck getting that set. It has never acted up on me like this before, but as jkt had said, he once had to wait for 2-3 days.

Another thing I was wondering about is why HAS goes down each evening from around 10 PM - 2 AM EDT? Maintenence?

48 hr and counting, anybody got any info? At this rate it won't be here until next weekend.
