I lost count at my house but the weatherbug right down the road shows 12.93" for the month. That's a big difference from hardly a drop in May!

Just checked my rain gauge....another 1.01" fell this afternoon and evening, bringing the total rainfall for June to a whopping 15.23"!! (normal is about 4")

For the two month period May 1st to June 30th, an unbelievable 25.02" was measured at my location 19 miles due west of Atlanta, Georgia.....and much more heavy rain from Bill's remains are on the way :(

We got a little over 13 inches for June. That's almost double our normal rainfall for the month.

Seems like pretty much everyone from the Mississippi River area eastward experienced above normal precip in June. Hopefully the west can get some much needed rains in July.

Some areas in South Carolina, particularly Berkeley County, had 15" of rain in just one week in the middle of this month, fortunately I was 30 miles west of that area and only picked up a modest 2½" of rain that week ... anyway, I finished the month of June with 6.73" (5.65" is the normal or a modest 1.08" above normal) ...

June 1973 in Charleston remains the record for the entire month of any month in Charleston when 27.24" of rain fell .... which included two separate daily records that month and year where over 9" of rain fell on a calendar day ...

I am a rain spotter for the NWS so I collect the rainfall data daily (if any)

My total for June is 5.05 inches.

Same here. I heard that it was the 2nd wettest June on record for the Philadelphia area. But I predict that July will have below normal rainfall. Just a hunch.

Well... we had about 4 big rains that really skew the totals but for the month of June we had 6.45" of rain.
June is typically our wettest month here. The faucet generally turns off in July.

I agree... don't think July will be that wet at all.

That's what I heard also about this June. We've pretty much had above normal precipitation since last Fall (almost), but not to this extreme. I don't think it'll be that wet either, unless we get some kind of tropical system. TD Bill is hitting us now with some rain, but it's supposed to pass to our south (extreme Southern New Jersey and Delaware will get it). Actually, after the heat we've had, the rain is actually WELCOME! :o

Just an update....the remains of tropical storm Bill dropped a total of 4.31" here at my location; 3.30" of which fell after midnight on June 30th...which is my July total (3.30" for 7/1-2).

Total rainfall at my home since May 1st now totals 28.32" (normal is about 8") -- and yearly precip here now totals 43.05"...and we only average around 50.5" in Douglasville annually.

Have you had any flooding problems?
