I had to mow the yard for the first time this year. While mowing the yard I had to move a Toad out of the way... something I don't normaly have to do till June.
The yard has a few dead spots from all the dry time last year, but it looks good. I have spent the last few days out in the yard watching things change. The birds are making nests, the first Robin of the year was in my yard. It's just amazing how fast things can change given a few weeks of warm weather.

I hit 88* yesterday. It's my favorite time of the year

It's my favorite time of the year myself. I love watching the landscape come back to life. I'm also a garden freak...I put my potatoes in the ground two weeks ago and this past Sunday I planted tomatoes and bush beans. This is in my front garden. The one out back is about an acre in size and I haven't even started on that one. I'm going to mostly put corn in that one along with okra, cantaloupe, peppers, more bush beans, squash etc.

Everything is blooming big time out in m area. All the trees have new buds coming off of them, the jasmine is out in full bloom, the blackberries are starting to bloom, the grass is growing and the temps are warm. My kind of weather no doubt!! Oh and it's my favorite time to fish. I caught a big mess of catfish last night which will be hitting the grease later on this evening.

Here on the east side of Dallas, I will cut my grass for the 1st time this weekend. I could've cut it this past weekend, but I didn't feel like sharpening the blade.

Even though we had freezing fog/mist and temps below 32 for 2-3 days about 3 weeks ago, the grass, trees and other plants didn't seem to notice.

Since we didn't have a freeze here, it didn't burn anything, but it did seem to put the plants "on hold" for several days. Now everything is really opening up and it looks beautiful. I saw the first hibiscus blooms yesterday (not at my house unfortunately) and the blossoms on my orange tree should open any day now.

Now if we could get some more rain, we'd be in great shape.
