On Tuesday 3/29; the GFS is showing a potent storm system to affect the state of California. I have just spent the past 15-20 minutes reviewing the 0z GFS and here are some observations that I noted:

1. 850mb wind speed is 45kts at 96 hrs along the entire SW California coast.
3. QPF at the same time is projected to be up to 1.53" in some areas for that 6 hour period.
4. And finally, while the center of the vort is still near San Francisco at this time frame; the cold front will be passing through around then; which means that is when the worst weather is expected.

Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome. :)

It is looking very good for a strong rain event for Tuesday...one thing you forgot is an 120 mph jet that will enhance the system even further...it could be very interesting come Tuesday night.

It's started already, a little earlier than scheduled.

I stand corrected, it was a typo in my original post.

And yes, we have received some light showers off and on here in Orange County so far. The heavy stuff looks to be a bit further offshore still.
