Good cells forming across Illinois, but they seem to be a squall line. Surprised they haven't gone High Risk. IMO Watch 193 should be a PDS and Watch 194 a Tornado Watch, not a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

Tough to balance religion and storm tracking here...

I'm thinking today is looking quite promising. More so than the last few days anyway. Hope everyone stays safe... I don't see an end to this severe weather on the horizon

Me either! I guess the fact that the Lord has Risen has made the impression that severe weather should rise too!

Have a Happy - and Safe - Easter!

Eeeek I don't want to hear about how 194 should be a TOR! It's that whole empty house thing....

We're getting some storms now, nothing severe right now, just some nice rolling thunder, and some heavy rain. I'm hoping it stops soon because I want to go get some lunch :P

Dean, that picture is the tornado that hit Stoughton, Wisconsin (close to Madison) last year. http://www.stoughtontornado.org/

Spotters reported a touchdown in the City of Bloomington, Illinois on Route 9 near Wal-Mart, 5 minutes ago.

The Wal-Mart has everyone in the storage rooms.

OK I'm having trouble with the SPC site. The good news is that if there is a touchdown in a commercial area, few should be affected as most are closed.

The touchdown was just rolling rotation. Confirmed now. No touchdown.

OK thanks. Everyone probably equals only a handful of people in that case.

Where is the dry line?

Posted: Sun Apr 16, 2006 4:03 pm
by CrazyC83
The dry line is the cold front way out in Missouri and Iowa I believe. This is ahead of the cold front.

Will anything further develop in western Illinois? Looking pretty dead.

There is some activity developing in eastern Iowa and extreme northeastern Missouri. Not severe yet though.
