Elevated thunderstorms to our west had their anvils blown over Norman early this evening and we were treated to an awesome display of mammatus clouds. Pictures taken by my storm chase partner Tommy Winning.

Haby Hints has a great description of mammatus (and anything else weather-related).
"Mammatus are pouched shaped clouds that protrude downward from the thunderstorm's anvil.
They form as negatively buoyant moisture laden air sinks."
