Heat is Arriving in the Desert

The heat is arriving here on the desert floor with morning lows in the 60's and afternoon highs at 95+. Expecting triple digits later this week.

The cactus plants seem to love this time of year, and here's just one example from my own back yard.

Nice pic. Barrel and Prickly Pear Cactus are starting to bloom around here too. I actually live in the "high cold desert" rather than the hot desert, so our warmest day this year has been 76.

Amazing how the length of daylight and heat can produce sucha pretty flower. I assume this had nothing to do with precipitaion falling..

Just in time, I have moved to Tulsa. Heading back to PHX Friday to pick up the rest of the family and drive back to Oklahoma, where it was maybe 70F today instead of 100F like PHX.

I know. Wait til July. :roll:

BTW, That is a beautiful cactus picture. I will miss that.
