We are slowly approaching, I believe Monday, the latest start of the monsoon season (I know it's been *offically* declared but it dang sure ain't here) and thus far it's a big ol' "bust-o-rama" up here. Yes, we started out on a decent note, .83" from 29 June till 2 July then "Zero, zip, Nadda" just a DRY heat. Normally this time of year I should be at 2.56" or better. Is this year gonna be a *nonsoon monsoon* season once again (just like the last 11 straight years)?

You didn't pay attention to my outlook did you where I said below to near normal rainfall with some stations well below normal. So far, TUS is above, SV now a bit below. The latest start on record (according to PHX) is actually July 27th. That was in 1987 which had a good recovery in August of that year. Actually, calling the monsoon over on July 14th is rather like calling the ATL hurricane season over on the same date. I've seen some pathetic Julys followed by some majorly wet Augusts down here (1995 comes to mind real fast).

Steve, I didn't say it was over, simply stating it's been rather "weak" to non existent up here......and yes, I guess I didn't read your whole outlook or at least didn't pay attention, with gas prices these days, I'm TOO POOR to pay ATTENTION, it's all going to GAS :ggreen:

LOL Steve!!

Easterly wave progged to give S. Calif a good taste of monsoonal happiness Monday and Tuesday, all the way to the coast. Just my luck... I should've been home yesterday and now I have to wait until possibly the best monsoonal show of 2006 ends to return.

BTW, when does the monsoon end in southern California usually? In August?

We've been dry slotted so far today as well. We are also getting aced out so far with areas to our west like Tucson and Pima County getting blasted while we get piddles.
