Western Arizona Lightning

Well so far this years monsoon in Lake Havasu City, AZ has been quite weak. 99% of the storms have just brushed us and they have been some severe ones. Be really nice to watch them and take photographs of the lightning. More of the lightning can be seen on my webstie.

Wow very impressive.. Geesh make me wanna stay our of the mountains.. Certainly during a storm.. Here is a similar lightening link in the World forum..

The monsoon Gods have
been VERY gracious to us
in the White Mountains this year,
so much in fact that I'm 2.89"
ABOVE normal - year to date
The lightning this year has been
INTENSE as you've shown! A record
number of people have been hit here in
Pinetop!
5 people struck but NO fatalities
with ONE exception, Bernie the elk
was killed over a week ago
by a stray lightning bolt!

thanks everyone for the comments. Well actually the monsoon this year in Lake Havasu has been quite week. We have only had 0.26 inches of rain from the monsoon and evertime it does come around it's never on top of us, and now the monsoon is out of here again for at least a week as SW flow develops.

They are some of the most awesome photos I've ever seen!!!
We had yet ANOTHER gully washer, toad strangler yesterday.....an amazing 1.84" fell in a matter of 25 minutes, major street flooding, business's along St. Hwy. 260 were flooded. I'm at 16.20" for the season thus far, as I said, I'm now WAY above normal, normal to date is 11.50" (or there abouts) with the average being 13.00" for the entire monsoon season. The end of August and first week of Sept. in a normal pattern brings 1.5" with the normal ending of 10 Sept.
As you pointed out, thanks to a trough in the PAC NW, the monsoon moisture had been pushed eastward for a few days.
Sorry to hear about the lack luster monsoon in your neck of the woods, that has GOT to be down right depressing.

thanks everyone for the comments. Yet we have had a very very week monsoon season here in western central Arizona. With only 0.26 inches of rain and all thunderstorms on the outskirts of Havasu. What is up with that? Last year was way better as far as t-storm activity goes. Any predictions on the up coming rest of the monsoon season here in Lake Havasu City, AZ?
