The SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Tarrant County has been cancelled as a small line of strong thunderstorms exited the area, however a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING continues for Dallas County until 11:45AM CDT.

looks like the squall line may be trying to build into central TX right now as well. I Wouldn't be surprised to see this become a full-fledged serial squall line by this evening.

It could get really interesting down my way later on..

This morning, some local meteorologists said that the storms would fall apart before reaching DFW and rebuild east of my area. They were WRONG!!!

Looks like gboudx could get some rain in his area, just hope his hometown doesn't get more than what they bargained for.

The NWS and SPC has (finally) issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch #799 for Southeastern parts of North Texas until 8:00PM CDT. The watch also includes the cities of Tyler, Longview, as well as Southern Arkansas and extreme Northwestern Louisiana.

Aaaaahhhh.... can't you just hear the parched Texas plains sighing in relief with this line of storms? My MIL lives in Wimberley (central TX, hill country) and reports everything has been burned brown all summer.

that line moving toward Houston right now looks very intense. I am EXTREMELY surprised there are no severe T-storm warnings for it!

Storm tears roof off of apartments

Tanya Beard can’t get to her home right now, but just this morning she was relaxing in her living room when she heard what sounded like a thunderclap. "The whole apartment just shook. So I went outside, opened the door, and the roof was literally hanging off the edge of the roof," said Beard.

"Best I can tell, rolled back like a little sardine can or something," said Damian Hancock, another resident of the apartment complex.

The worst of the storm lasted no more than a half hour, but when it was over the roof was on the ground.

Report from N. Houston: Squall line came through with lots of crawler lightning and gusts to 45mph, but overall was not too impressive. We saw, at most, may be .3" of rain and no hail. Could have been much worse if it had hit during the afternoon with stronger upper level shear.
