Significant Houston Area Floods

List of Houston floods since the 19th century. Some are really devastating and memorable. December 8, 1935 flood had the Buffalo Bayou rise by 46 feet! It flooded up to three stories!

Preliminary record rainfall for Houston TX today... 4.89 inches.
Further south, Galveston has seen 3.57 inches, a new record for Oct 16 as well.

Other prelim records:-

North Little Rock AR 1.17 inches
Alexandria LA 3.66 inches
Monroe LA 4.81 inches

Lots of October floods. I noticed it left out the May 1989 flood and Hurricane Chantal of 1989.

There are lots of events missing for some strange reason. Hurricane Bret (1999) and Hurricane Claudette (2003) are both missing from the TX Hurricane list - and Bret as a major. Go figure.....
