For entertainment purposes ONLY ... I give you the 0z run of the GFS at 312 hours:

But then the 6z run of the GFS brings us all back to reality:

I noticed that too last night. Nothing to worry about right now IMO, but if that same signal pops up again a week or two down the road...then watch out!
May be this is giving us a hint at what to expect in early December?

I agree, even if the snow doesn't pan out I still think it's a sign of whats to come at the end of the month. That cold can't stay up there forever! Let's hope that it doesn't all slide east though.

Ah, the GFS play games with us again.
For what it's worth, JB thinks we have a very warm Thanksgiving which usually means a very cold Christmas for Texas. Still, I kind of like waking up late on Thanksgiving Friday and watching the UT/A&M game in warm ups and a fire going. I guess I'll have to set the A/C at 60 to get that effect.

the good news is that JB (in his latest post) is saying that canadian cold could once again come down the plains toward the end of Thanksgiving week.
Seems like everytime we try to warm up...we cool back down quickly!

For the love of what is good, do not get me all happy and excited at the prospect of snow and then bring me back to reality that quickly ever again. Okay???
Now, I will pick myself up and go back to my fantasy land of snow and ice.
