Robust rain chances for South Florida starting Sunday and into next week with a rainy-season-like pattern helped by the low that forms in the Gulf. Rain chances look good further up the state also and on the west coast Wed and Thu.

Just changing to hit my pool on perfect Saturday. Old saying. Live by the models. Die by the models. Will see if it pans out. Definitely can use the rain. Especially west coast

If anything this set up favors the east coast for rain. The west coast is the most likely screw zone...as the best rain resides to the west over the gulf...while busy easterly flow favors the eastern peninsula for meaningful qpf over the peninsula. We've seen this play out many times before. In fact...take a look at the present WPC map...it reflects this scenario well..

My part of Orlando got really lucky Friday evening with some heavy storms thanks to a sea breeze collision, it had been at least 3 weeks since we had a few drops of rain. After numerous days in the 80s and 90s with no rain it was really welcomed.
I will be enjoying temps only in the 70s and 80s for highs this week, finally some real spring weather.

A lot of much needed rainfall here in SE Boca Raton today with some training over my locale producing 3+ inches of rain. Looks the rain chances stay high the entire week. Winds are quite gusty here along the coast as well with winds gusting to over 35mph. Feels almost like tropical storm-like weather.

Tomorrow and Thursday west central is supposed to get its first substantial rain. I'll be happy with whatever we get. The very cool mornings on the coast have been very nice along with that strong breeze. My rain barrels are waiting!!

I've had 0 so far which is meeting my expectations. The set up favors rain on the east coast and a thorough shafting on the west coast...which is precisely what we've seen thus far. As for the upcoming rain chances...it's a transient warm front. While those can sometimes deliver the goods, I suspect many places in west central FL will be lucky to get .25-.5". The key to being satisfied in such a scenario is low expectations. The rainy season is drawing closer so there is that. It's just really tough to get good rain in April.

NWS Miami is forecasting 46mph wind gusts tonight for areas right along the immediate coast of SE Florida. It really is tropical-storm like with this tight pressure gradient.

Picked up at least 2.5'' of rain today alone, sitting around 5 inches total for this event since it began three days ago. University Dr. is flooded in many spots with a couple inches of standing water.

Picked up some spotty showers this morning here in Pinellas County. Enough to dampen the ground and mess up my clean car.

The FLDOT Cameras are showing a very serious flooding situation in Ft. Lauderdale.

NWS Miami update as of 7:38pm EST and plenty of more rain has fallen over Dania in the last 2 hours

Quite an active afternoon across South Florida in terms of shower
and thunderstorm coverage. Thanks to a warm front pushing northward
across the area, some significant rainfall totals have been observed
with the highest totals across Southern Broward county. Preliminary
radar estimates show rainfall totals of 2-6" across Miami Dade
County with the highest amounts in the northern portion of the
county. For Broward County, a whopping 13" has fallen just north of
Dania Beach since midnight. 10" is estimated in Hollywood, and 8-9"
in portions of Fort Lauderdale. Heading further north, there is a
sharp gradient in rainfall totals with Wilton Manors receiving
between 5-6" and Pompano Beach 3-5" - still considerable amounts,
although not nearly as much as southern parts of Broward.

The warning text shows 12-20" over parts of Broward. Holy ballz that is epic insanity. Stay safe down there. Nothing beyond a sprinkle up here around the bay area so far.
