Found a few members that had preliminary numbers so made them final.

FYI= Hurricane Bonnie will not count as a hurricane for the 2022 Storm2k North Atlantic poll as it made the crossover to the Eastern Pacific and was classified as a hurricane in that basin.

As the 2022 hurricane season comes to a close, here is the review if members nailed or not the 14/8/2 that the season had. hcane27 was the closest nailing two categories that were number of storms and major hurricanes but 12 members nailed the 8 hurricanes. Thanks to all the 94 members that participated. View of 2022 poll
Ok folks, let's do it again starting on April 1. Can we surpass 100 members participating in 2023? :D

psyclone got close by being accurate to the Hurricane count, but was off by 4 in Named Storms and by 2 in Major Hurricanes.

Sciencerocks was likely the closest to being accurate, off of all categories by 2-1-1 with his prediction of 16/7/3.

hcane27 was the closest to 14/8/2 but his ACE number was way above the 95.1.

Well this didn’t age well lol.

Post-2020/21 bias and the relative death of third year Nina seasons likely contributed to all estimates being too high. Nobody could’ve guessed that we’d have a -ENSO August with zero named storms and a near-record 60 day NS drought.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Salute!

Well, I got the number of 'canes, but dat's all.
For some reason my personal history suggested more storms in the Gulf during La Nina. Guess I re-visit the theory, heh?
Regardless, I can take a joke and even fewer storms here in the Panhandle.

Signing off for this year, and I'll lurk but not like during "the season". Have to donate again this year, too. A very good site for we storm nerds and we gotta keep it going.
