i don´t think so. 20°C in southern germany is not that unusual even for end of october. It´s a card from a private german weather service. Maybe they are new stations or something.

Very unique set up. 20°C for that late in the night is rather odd in October... from what I remember during my days in Germany.

Here's the 27/00Z surface analysis from the 21st Operational Weather Squadron (USAF) in Sembach, Germany:

Operational Weather Squad ? I didn´t know something existing in germany. But OK. I can remember walking outside with only a shirt on in a november. But that was in southern germany on a sunny day and not in northern germany at night. I fixed a small digital thermometer on a thin rope and got it out of the window at 1 am: 21,5 ° C. Pft.

Some very strong WAA ahead of that cold front is obviously the answer. In southern Germany, especially close to the Bavarian Alps such warm nighttime temperatures would be the result of Föhn winds.

Yes, sir. It's maintained by the US Air Force and they predict the weather throughout Europe, most of Africa, and part of Asia. It's near Kaiserslautern. I spent a few years there myself.

Nonetheless, wow... 21.5°C. Not bad for 1 Uhr.

I don't know about Germany, but here in the UK, we are at the stage were we can still get fairly mild by day, but it should be cooling off signifcantly by night by now...yet in late October, temperatures could be reluctant to fall any further down than the low teens..which is a warm night for here in late October...

..mid you, the first week of November has knocked that on the head...a few good frosts this month already.
