Storm of the Month: January [ Nomination ]

#1 Postby HURAKAN » Sun Feb 01, 2009 11:30 pm

Another month has passed and we have the opportunity to choose a storm or weather event that was significant enough to warrant "Storm of the Month." You have two days to nominate.

Remember, you may nominate as many weather events or storm as you like.

Overall, a pretty quiet month in terms of major events.

Eh....western/central US January blowtorch?

Alaska coldwave?

Ongoing Southern US drought?

Southern Australia heatwave?

The London snowstorm is February, I think...

Regardless, we can probably call this month a done deal for the central US ice storm of January 27. It's even got a legit shot at Storm of the Year, hopefully. (if we have a quiet year weather-wise)

Ongoing Central China's drought!!
From December on, some regions of Central China did not fall 1mm of precipitation.
