This is not a new idea, a number of people have been proposing this for some time, given the well known cooling effect that major volcanic eruptions in the tropics have.

The biggest problem with the idea is that it would essentially have to be an ongoing thing - the persistence of particulates in the tropical stratosphere is a couple of years at best. It's also unclear if there would be negative effects from injecting that much stuff into the stratosphere. Not to mention nobody has a clue what such an ongoing project would cost.

I don't know where IceCap.us, a web site run by Joe D'Aleo that doubts AGW, gets its numbers from, but if this graph is anywhere near accurate, this is indeed a silly argument.

Why say that is fox news? It is AP's, Associated Press', news story, sent out over fox news. Fox News has nothing to do with writing that news story, they just merely tell it as they get it.

Fox News gets a bad rap, in my opinion. Geraldo and Greta are jokes, of course, O'Reilly makes informed people of every political stripe cringe, but while they report things that are tabloidy trashy sometimes (but then again, so does CNN), when they do hard news, they don't make stuff up.
