Have a feeling that today could be somewhat interesting again. At least the area on a line between, say the Luxembourg border and Eastern Thuringia/Western Saxonia.

80km is the longest tracker I can remember in a while. The damage looked PRETTY bad. Upper end F2 at least. Apparently there was also a fatality. Bad day.

There has also been one rather impressive cell in Northern Baden-Württemberg today.

One Tornado in Vienna
http://iptv.orf.at/stories/2001800/

Two dead, but not directly related to the Tornado. A man died due to a heart attack, a woman fell into a creek.

Two weeks ago. Vienna again ...

Possible tornado spooted nearby Minden, NRW.

And there's a VICIOUS cell in North-East France coming into Rhineland Palantine.

Do you think the Hadley Circulation will bring a taste of the Gulf Oil Spill to the rain in Europe?

The roll cloud over Helgoland on Monday was IMMENSE. Textbook-stuff.

However, yesterday was a bit of a damp squip over here. Just a few drops of rain and we desperately need more than that.

Today was nearly the opposite though, I've heard of more than a couple of injured people in the area due to uprooted trees and it did look a bit as if all hell was going to break loose. Frankfurt Airport is shut down as we speak.

:flag: Great to find some documentation here from the crazy summer of 2010 over in europe. I had a few students who spent the summer overseas and every single e-mail I got back mentioned something about the weather and how they had never seen anything like it. For such a long time I was only worried about the US, living in tornado alley and all, but events like this definitely shift my view of weather in to a more international spectrum. Crazy!

DOH! :sun:
