The greatest heat wave in history is now over... 8C(46.4F) this morning with a wind chill of 6C(43F) :cold: in Moscow.

Temperatures being held below normal have been a rarity this summer in Moscow. June 18 was the last time that Moscow experienced below-normal temperatures and a high in the 60s.

...

To further put the heat into perspective, consider the fact that temperatures from June 19 to August 19 averaged an impressive 14.1 degrees above normal.

Yesterday was the last day of the heat wave.
This was apparently the 23rd record high of the summer at Moscow's climatological site of record, according to Russian media outlets. Of these, 11 have been set in August alone.
