preparing for Insurance claim

#1 Postby FLPublicAdjuster » Mon May 31, 2010 9:14 pm

Most people prepare for a storm by gathering food, water batteries, boarding up and grabbing important papaerwork. What I suggest to all my clients is to take a video or photos of your home and belongings. Document both the exterior of your home aswell as the interior. Photo graph every room in the house from every angle each wall, ceiling and flooring. Take pictures of your personal belongiongs. God forbid you have a major event that demolishes your house you will need to tell the insurance adjuster what kind of roof you had, siding or stucco on the walls. Will you remmeber all of your personall belongings and I mean everything. Photos tell a better picture of your loss. This is something that will help you get the most out of your claim and get it settled faster with the insurance company.

I take pictures every year. Thank goodness for digital cameras!
